The Girls

I went out to the land yesterday just to check on things. I took "The Girls". AKA my dogs. I did some weed eating around some trees & walked the land. The girls had a great time. Molly stays in the water.

House plan

While I was doing my usual scanning through house plans on-line I clicked on "Top House Plans" & found our current house listed. I couldn't believe it would be listed. If you ever need a plan this site is pretty good. The people that originally built our house did change a few things. I changed it to what it looks like now. I don't know if the room sizes are right.

Handy

A new magazine I discovered while waiting in a tire store. I love it. I went straight to Books-A-Million & got one. I plan on a subscription.

Sad addition

July 13th of this month was a sad day for the Patty family. Our cat of 16 years passed away while I was at church. My husband had stayed home for Sunday School but was meeting me for the 11:00 service. He didn't tell me at church what had happened. Before he got in the shower Frosty had let out a funny meow. Something was different about it he thought. He got in the shower. During this time my daughter & her husband had come in from their church service. They found Frosty on the office floor in his favorite spot. He had passed away. When we got home from church my husband sat me down on the couch & told me. I was devastated to say the least. My cat was gone & I was not here. They had moved him to our laundry room after they had found him. I built up the courage & went to be with him. After awhile of saying my goodbye's I had to decide what we would do with him. If anyone has had a pet pass away that was part of your family you know what I am talking about. Well the land is still a good part of our lives & so we decided to bury Frosty where we will be making our home soon I hope. My husband went out & bought a plastic tub for him. He went to the garden section & found a beautiful cross we could use as a marker. While he was gone I found Frosty's collar, his favorite afghan he lay on, 7 little treats in a baggie & a poster in a bottle to mark who is buried. I know it is silly a couple of the things but you have to understand this was a part of our family for a long time. Well our afternoon was spent for a burial. We buried him down by the lake by what will be the boys play area. I will be able to see the grave from our future deck. I hope to build a small pergola by the area.
Even after a week & a half later I still miss him so very much.
I still feel his presence here everywhere.
I still think I see him out of the corner of my eye.
I hear him in another room.
Time will pass. Wounds will heal. I hope!

We needs goats!

Jeff went on his lunch break (YES--he takes lunch breaks) today to see if everything looked ok at the land. The grass is REALLY high. He said it was hard to tell where the drive is. He was in his little Miata so he didn't dare see if it would make it through grass. Not after what happened to him once before in soft ground.
Positive side. Found where the spring runs through the front side of the property.
Trying to dig out.
Hooking up a tow rope. Notice the mud on the dress shoes & pants. Not really stuck if you don't get some mud on ya'.
Giving up & letting our nearest neighbor up on the hill pull him out.

Skinny Dipping

An elderly man in Texas had owned a large farm for several years.
He had a beautiful large pond at the back of the property next to the road and he'd
fixed it up real nice with picnic tables, horseshoe pits, and he'd planted
some nice flowers and fruit trees next to the pond.
One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond to look it
over as he hadn't been down there for a while.
He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond,
he heard splashing and female voices shouting and laughing with glee.
As he came closer he saw that 5 young women had parked their car at the side
of the road, climbed the fence and were skinny-dipping in his pond.
He made the women aware of his presence and they all went
hurriedly splashing to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, "We're naked and we're not coming out until you leave!'
The old man frowned and yelled back, 'I didn't come down here to watch you
ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond."
Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm just here to feed the alligator.'

Don't swim in our lake

A name!

Still trying to come up with a name for the land/property/farm. We have liked Deerfield Point for awhile. Name is subject to change. We have toyed with Deerfield Landing. Expecting a Realtor to come by today with info for us to get re-listed. Can't sell a house off the market.
